HTC One M8 GPE dies

HTC One M8 GPE dies

The idea of having multiple devices come with the pure Google experience was promising. The Google Play Edition program became very popular for this very reason, but it seems the project has definitely seen brighter days.
Today, the HTC One M8 Google Play Edition has been taken off the shelves at the Google Play Store. It’s gone, and with it have marched away all your chances to buy a GPE smartphone. The HTC One M8 Google Play Edition was the last of its kind.
Opinion: We don’t know if more GPE devices will hit the Play Store in the future, but so far things are really not looking good. We do still have the Nexus program, but sometimes you just don’t want to stick to a single device for getting a true Google experience.
