Uber working on its own self-driving technology

Uber working on its own self-driving technology

Google is entering the taxi market while Uber is entering the self-driving car market. Two partners that were once very well-invested in each other seem to now be going to war by stepping into each other’s territory!
The news comes from an Uber blog post, which states they are partnering with Carnegie Mellon University to work on future technologies for the ride-sharing service. This would include, primarily, safety and autonomy.
Opinion: If it came down to it, which service would you choose? Uber has a very bad reputation with the press, so I am assuming they will have a hard time competing against a large, powerful and very well-liked company like Google.
